In November, the LPC whānau came together to celebrate our team and a big year at the Port.
Bringing staff together from across three sites and 24/7 operations is never easy, with LPC making the historic decision to stop operations for a night to make it happen.
The event was held at Te Pae Convention Centre and all LPC staff and their partners were invited.
Stemming from our Workplace Culture Action Plan, the initiative also brought staff together from different teams who haven’t had the chance to meet.
LPC Chief Executive, Kirstie Gardener, says it was wonderful to have so many of our staff in one place to look back on the year.
“LPC is continually growing, whether it is exchanging half a million TEUs for the first time in FY22, welcoming back cruise to Whakaraupō/Lyttelton Harbour, or reducing carbon emissions per TEU by 7%.”
“The LPC team is dedicated to Port operations and keeping operations moving 24/7 doesn’t come without sacrifice. It was special to acknowledge that and to have our team’s partners there to celebrate too.”
The night also saw the launch of two new awards that highlight someone who represents the LPC values and someone who demonstrates leadership in safety.
“More than 500 people attended and it was great to see our staff meet new workmates and learn more about each other. I’m excited about what we can achieve together in the future,” says Kirstie.
