Development: Track & Trace of containers and vessels
Lyttelton Container Terminal.

The launch of live Track & Trace for all container movements and vessel schedules at the Lyttelton Port will be available on the PortConnect website, beginning Monday, 4th November, 2024.

Since 2021, PortConnect and LPC have collaborated to provide container and vessel data for our B2B integration customers. This new development marks the beginning of exciting advancements

PortConnect’s visibility significantly enhances import cargo tracking. Having the South Island’s largest import port on the platform will improve efficiency for the many cargo owners and logistics providers that frequent Lyttelton.

Simon Munt, LPC’s Chief Customer and Supply Chain Officer, expressed his excitement about expanding the partnership with PortConnect.

“Ensuring improved information flows and standardising how our customers interact with ports across New Zealand is an important step in driving greater efficiencies across the supply chain,” said Simon Munt.

In addition to container and vessel visibility on PortConnect’s Track & Trace, we are working together to introduce Cost Acceptance and B2B Export Pre-advice functionality.

Customers subscribed to Track & Trace can now access a comprehensive data suite, including over 30 separate event notifications. This helps save time and money by providing precise container location information.

This visibility also extends to LPC’s MidlandPort and gate in/out events at CityDepot.

PortConnect partnerships has increased supply chain visibility to approximately 85% of NZ port container movements.
